Glitch Itch

GLITCH ITCH is a loop of one specific moment on a camping site. A father surprises a family with a video camera. The father shoots the family, grills potatoes with them, then walks out and disappears forever. The moment keeps repeating until it slowly starts to deform and show hidden sides of the childhood happiness. After the loop, documentary material is presented: an original childhood home video of Maia Häkli and her brother is projected on walls of the space.

GLITCH ITCH happens in a white cube. Audience is invited inside a cube to sit on camping chairs on a fake lawn. Surfaces of the cube are used to play with shadows of the outside world and to create visuals to support different ambiences of the loops.

GLITCH ITCH is a performance about the little glitches of memory that form our reality. Of the glitches that have constructed our ideas of childhood and of happiness.
